In a notable protest, Congress MLAs Irfan Lone and Iftikhar Ahmed raised their voices against the alleged harassment of Kashmiris outside Jammu and Kashmir. They gathered on the assembly stairs, holding signs demanding an end to these incidents.
Joined by colleagues from Rajouri, Lone and Ahmed focused attention on recent events involving Kashmiri nursing students in Rajasthan. According to the MLAs, these students reportedly faced assault during a protest concerning course recognition, with four individuals sustaining injuries.
The lawmakers not only voiced their concerns but also called for intervention at the highest levels, urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to take decisive action in halting such harassment.
