A border resident was apprehended with foreign-made weapons in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, officials stated on Thursday. The individual, identified as Sachin Kumar from Sair village near the Line of Control, was captured by an Army patrol near Raipur village within the Nowshera sector late Wednesday night.

The Army recovered two pistols—one Turkish and the other Chinese—alongside four magazines and 15 rounds of ammunition from Kumar's possession. Officials have registered a case against him, and investigations are ongoing. Preliminary interrogations suggest Kumar received the arms consignment from across the border, intending to deliver it further when intercepted.

A search operation is currently underway in the Marlog and Lodra forests of Udhampur's Basantgarh area. Security forces initiated the operation based on a tip-off regarding the movements of three suspected terrorists. Efforts continue to track down the planned recipient of the seized weapons and unravel the cross-border network involved.
