A 36-year-old Nepalese man, identified as Rakesh Pratap, has been allegedly murdered, with his body discovered near the Pabbar riverbank in Rohru, according to police reports on Thursday.
The deceased, who worked as a labourer in the Rohru region, was found on Wednesday. Preliminary investigations point to head injuries from a sharp-edged weapon, suggesting foul play. The police have filed a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Forensic teams have gathered evidence from the scene, while CCTV footage shows Pratap with two suspects the day before his body was found. Shimla Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh confirmed that search operations are ongoing to apprehend the suspects.
