In a major breakthrough, the Meghalaya Police have conducted the largest drug bust in the state's history, uncovering narcotics worth over Rs 51 crore in East Jaintia Hills district.

The operation, executed by the police in coordination with the Anti-Narcotics Task Force, resulted in the arrest of two individuals from Mizoram, suspected to be part of an interstate drug syndicate.

The recovered contraband included heroin and crystal methamphetamine tablets. Investigations are ongoing to uncover further linkages in the drug trafficking network.
