After spending two-and-a-half years in judicial custody at Central Jail Bharatpur, Manesar stepped out wearing a bulletproof vest. Known by the alias Mohit Yadav, Manesar was accused alongside others in the murder of cousins Junaid and Nasir on suspicion of cow smuggling.
