In a move to strengthen India’s deep-tech startup ecosystem and promote indigenous wellness technologies, the Technology Development Board (TDB) under the Department of Science and Technology (DST) has extended financial assistance to Wellnesys Technologies Private Limited, a Bengaluru-based startup, to commercialise its innovative product — the YogiFi Smart Yoga Mat.
The project, titled “YogiFi Smart Sensor Fabric Mat Commercialization with Autonomous and Self-Reliant Systems,” aims to scale up indigenous manufacturing and enable large-scale production of an AI-powered digital wellness device developed in India.
The initiative aligns with the government’s broader vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, while also promoting preventive healthcare, digital wellness technologies, and innovation-driven entrepreneurship.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Kumar Pathak, Secretary of the Technology Development Board, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting startups working on globally relevant technologies.
“TDB remains committed to empowering Indian startups that are developing globally relevant technologies. Innovations such as YogiFi demonstrate how India’s ancient tradition of yoga can be strengthened through modern technologies, creating scalable digital wellness solutions while taking India’s timeless knowledge systems to a global audience,” he said.
The financial support from TDB is expected to help the company scale manufacturing, enhance product development, and expand international market access.

The promoters of Wellnesys Technologies Private Limited expressed gratitude for the government’s support and noted that the assistance would accelerate the commercial production and global outreach of the YogiFi Smart Yoga Mat.
They said the initiative will help showcase India’s growing leadership in technology-driven wellness innovation, combining the country’s rich cultural heritage with cutting-edge digital technologies.
The collaboration also highlights how public institutions are increasingly working with startups to translate laboratory innovations into market-ready products, strengthening India’s innovation ecosystem.
