An Israeli airstrike targeted a central Beirut apartment block on Wednesday, escalating an already tense situation, according to Lebanese authorities. The strike marked the second on central Beirut within four days. In total, nearly 600 people have died in Lebanon due to Israeli attacks that began after Hezbollah retaliated for the assassination of Iran's supreme leader.

The latest strike wounded four, leaving significant damage and causing terror among residents. 'The sound was indescribable, the fear is indescribable,' said resident Bassima Ramadan. In addition to the Beirut incident, Israeli forces continue to bombard Hezbollah-dominated southern suburbs and have urged residents to evacuate.

As tensions rise, over 100,000 people are taking refuge either in shelters or with friends and family. The Lebanese health ministry reported additional casualties from airstrikes in Bekaa Valley and southern Lebanon, contributing to mounting pressure and fear of a full-scale Israeli incursion.
