In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves through Parvatipuram Manyam district, two young students lost their lives on Monday after drowning in a local lake. The victims, both nine years old, had gone to the lake for a bath after school hours in the scorching summer heat.

Police officials reported that the incident occurred around 4 PM, when the children unwittingly entered the lake and became trapped in the soil, leading to their untimely demise. Palakonda Deputy Superintendent of Police, G Rambabu, confirmed these details in a statement to PTI.

The incident highlights the dangers children face during leisure activities. In response, authorities have registered a case under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita for death due to drowning. The community is in mourning as families and officials grapple with the devastating loss.
