In a dramatic escalation of a family dispute, a panchayat meeting in Bareilly turned deadly when Afsar Khan, a 40-year-old ambulance driver, fatally stabbed his mother-in-law and brother-in-law. Stabbing his wife as she tried to intervene, Khan left the family in chaos, leading to a police manhunt.

The situation further deteriorated when Khan, who was armed with an illegal weapon, was located at Sahara Ground and refused to surrender. Instead, he fired at the police, resulting in a gunfire exchange that left him critically injured. Khan was taken to the district hospital where he was declared dead.

Police revealed that Khan had an extensive criminal past including a life sentence for murdering his maternal uncle, which he was serving until securing bail. This tragic incident adds to his criminal record, as the police continue to investigate the motives behind his actions.
