The United Nations has initiated an inquiry into a fatal missile attack on the Shajareh Tayyebeh School in Iran, coinciding with U.S.-Israeli military operations. The strikes resulted in the tragic loss of 168 young lives, primarily girls, as disclosed by Iranian officials in Geneva.

According to a Reuters report dated March 5, U.S. military investigations have indicated a probable involvement of its forces, pending a conclusive outcome. The Pentagon has since escalated the investigation, with Max du Plessis from the U.N. Fact-Finding Mission confirming credible witness reports supporting Iran's casualty figures.

"Regardless of the investigative outcome, the significant loss of innocent lives necessitates a thorough and independent inquiry," stated du Plessis during a Geneva press conference. Confirmed U.S. responsibility would categorize the incident as one of the gravest in terms of civilian casualties in recent U.S. military history in the Middle East.
