The opposition's protest against the Viksit Bharat G RAM G scheme failed to attract public support, with Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan claiming the scheme is more effective than its predecessor, MGNREGA. He emphasized increased funding and improvements in employment days during a discussion at the Rajya Sabha.

Chouhan accused the Congress of renaming the scheme for electoral gain, while neglecting historical Indian leaders. Despite opposition-governed states, except Karnataka, implementing the scheme, he highlighted the UPA's lesser expenditure compared to the Modi government's substantial financial allocation.

Addressing complaints of fund misuse under MGNREGA, he underlined preventive measures in the VB G RAM G. He assured unbiased state fund distribution and emphasized the scheme's goal of boosting employment days and empowering Gram Sabhas, alongside provisions for unemployment and peak agricultural seasons.
