In a bold statement of international solidarity, Russia has declared unwavering support for Cuba, countering heightened pressures from the United States under President Donald Trump's administration. This announcement follows recent comments by Trump expressing a desire to exert control over the Communist nation.
While not naming Trump directly, Russia's Foreign Ministry voiced serious concern regarding increased tensions surrounding the island, which it described as the 'Island of Liberty.' It condemned any actions of gross interference in Cuba's sovereign affairs, including intimidation and illegal restrictive measures by the U.S.
Amid these tensions, Moscow remains in communication with Cuban leadership, pledging comprehensive support. As Cuba faces unprecedented challenges due to U.S.-imposed trade and energy blockades, Russia confirms continued financial assistance, maintaining a vital geopolitical alliance in the Caribbean.
