Scandal in Science: DRDO Scientist Charged Under Official Secrets Act

The Anti-Terrorism Squad of Maharashtra Police has charged DRDO scientist Pradeep Kurulkar with leaking confidential information to a Pakistani intelligence asset. The charge sheet was filed in compliance with the Official Secrets Act before a magistrate's court in an anti-corruption case. Upcoming proceedings are set for March 27.

The Maharashtra Police's Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has officially filed a charge sheet against Pradeep Kurulkar, a former DRDO scientist, accused of leaking sensitive data to a Pakistani intelligence operative.

The charge sheet was filed in accordance with the Official Secrets Act of 1923, following the directive of Sessions Judge P Y Ladekar.

Kurulkar, who was a director in a DRDO-affiliated lab in Pune, was arrested in May 2023, and his case will be heard by a magistrate on March 27.
