West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed alarm on Thursday about the Election Commission's decision to remove more than 50 senior officials in the state, labeling it as 'political interference of the highest order'.
Criticizing what she called a 'systematic politicisation of institutions', Banerjee condemned the recent reshuffles ordered by the commission, which included significant personnel changes such as the transfer of Chief Secretary Nandini Chakravorty and others.
Highlighting the erratic nature of these changes, Banerjee accused the poll body of singling out West Bengal and emphasized that such actions signify chaos and incompetence, describing the situation as an 'undeclared emergency'.
