Massive Ganja Bust in Beed: Woman Arrested

Authorities seized almost 22 kilograms of ganja from a farm in Maharashtra's Beed district and arrested landowner Ashabai Shingare. The operation in Lonwal village was spurred by a tip-off, leading to the discovery of cannabis plants meant for commercial use. Legal action is being pursued under the NDPS Act.

In a major crackdown, law enforcement agencies in Maharashtra have confiscated almost 22 kilograms of cannabis, commonly known as ganja, from a farm in Beed district.

The operation, conducted in Lonwal village, Wadwani tehsil, led to the arrest of local landowner Ashabai Shingare. Officials revealed that the raid was executed following a tip-off about illegal activities at the farm.

Officers discovered cannabis plants cultivated for commercial purposes and seized 21.960 kilos of ganja valued at Rs 5.49 lakh. Shingare has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act as investigations continue into possible connections to a broader drug network.
