In a major crackdown, law enforcement agencies in Maharashtra have confiscated almost 22 kilograms of cannabis, commonly known as ganja, from a farm in Beed district.
The operation, conducted in Lonwal village, Wadwani tehsil, led to the arrest of local landowner Ashabai Shingare. Officials revealed that the raid was executed following a tip-off about illegal activities at the farm.
Officers discovered cannabis plants cultivated for commercial purposes and seized 21.960 kilos of ganja valued at Rs 5.49 lakh. Shingare has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act as investigations continue into possible connections to a broader drug network.
