Police Team Attacked in Shocking Assault Incident

A police team responding to an assault complaint in Narhi was attacked by two individuals, Arun Rai and Amit Rai, resulting in severe injuries to constable Shailendra Kumar. The attackers damaged a police vehicle and were later arrested, with weapons found in their possession.

A police team faced a brutal attack during their response to an assault complaint in Narhi, district officials reported Saturday.

The incident unfolded Friday morning when the police arrived in Sikandarpur village upon receiving a complaint from Raghavendra Rastogi regarding an assault on his father. The officers, including Shailendra Kumar, Sunil Kumar, and Rambhajan Yadav, were reportedly ambushed by Arun Rai and Amit Rai alias Ganguly.

The suspects allegedly attempted to strangle Constable Shailendra Kumar and hurled stones at him, inflicting severe head injuries. The attackers also vandalized the police vehicle before fleeing the scene.

Virendra Singh, Narhi Station House Officer, confirmed that Shailendra Kumar has been hospitalized. A case citing attempted murder has been filed. Following a tip-off, the accused were apprehended on Nasirpur Madh-Ujiyar road, with firearms and cartridges seized from them. A viral video on social media captures the violent encounter.
