In a shocking incident that has raised questions about police conduct, two Delhi Police officers have been accused of robbing a businessman from Uttar Pradesh of Rs 8.4 lakh. The officers were immediately suspended after the allegations came to light.
The businessman, Deepak Soni, filed a complaint stating that he was intercepted and robbed near Ajmal Khan Park. Although he was carrying approximately Rs 10 lakh, the accused police personnel allegedly took Rs 8.4 lakh. The complaint prompted a swift response from the Deputy Commissioner of Police's office, resulting in the immediate suspension and arrest of the officers.
A preliminary inquiry confirmed the allegations of robbery and wrongful confinement, leading to the registration of a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Investigations are ongoing, with efforts underway to recover the alleged stolen amount.
