A 65-year-old Dutch national of Indian origin has been detained for allegedly dispatching an unusual parcel to Kempegowda International Airport's administrative office, police reported on Wednesday.
Subhash Jai Ajeez, the accused, had sent the parcel in January, which contained a toothbrush cover, rotten flower garlands, decaying tomatoes, iron fragments, and obscene images, according to authorities. The police filed a complaint on March 4 after conducting an initial investigation.
Through CCTV analysis and information from locals, police found Ajeez near a temple in Madiwala. During questioning, Ajeez claimed he meant no harm and that the parcel was part of a ritual to avert untoward events at the airport. Ajeez, an Overseas Citizen of India cardholder, told authorities that he had sent similar parcels to other airports. The matter is still under investigation, with further action pending his medical reports.
