The National Conference leader and Lok Sabha member, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, has called for a comprehensive, time-bound probe into allegations of a fake encounter in Ganderbal.
On Wednesday, the Army reported that a local terrorist was killed in Arahama, Ganderbal. However, the family of the deceased, Rashid Ahmad Mughal, claimed he was an innocent civilian with no militant affiliations. They allege that the Army altered his clothing post-mortem and have not disclosed his identity.
Syed Ruhullah Mehdi took to social media to emphasize the seriousness of the family's allegations and described the police's silence on the matter as 'unacceptable.' An independent probe has been demanded to uncover the truth behind the incident.
