In a decisive move, the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly has rejected a proposal to establish a Veterinary and Animal Sciences University in the Jammu region. This proposal was put forward by Legislator Narinder Singh Raina.
The resolution sought to bolster the Viksit Bharat @2047 initiative, highlighting the strategic importance of a dedicated veterinary sciences institution in the region.
Despite the introduction of amendments by National Conference's Mir Saifullah and Congress's Nizam-ud-Din Bhat, the resolution was disallowed following a voice vote.
