In the wake of a major bribery scandal, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has swiftly announced new leadership in the Shahdara North Zone. Mamta Yadav, an accomplished IAS officer currently serving as Assessor and Collector, has been appointed as the deputy commissioner to replace those implicated in corruption.
Earlier this week, Lt Col Abhishek Kumra Mishra and Devanshu Gautam, both officials in the Shahdara North Zone, faced arrest over alleged bribery charges. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) intervened after a Rs 4 lakh bribery case came to light, affecting the integrity of Delhi's civic body.
In response to these allegations, the MCD has not only reassigned roles in Shahdara but also expanded responsibilities for Mohit Bansal. Currently overseeing IT, Election, Ayush, and Unani, Bansal will now juggle additional duties as the Karol Bagh Zone deputy commissioner, aiming to stabilize governance.
