The death toll in the suspected hooch tragedy in Bihar's East Champaran district has risen to four. Officials reported that three more individuals succumbed after allegedly consuming spurious liquor.
At least six others are receiving treatment at a government hospital, and seven people have been discharged following initial medical care. The incident occurred on Thursday in the Turkauliya and Raghunathpur areas of Motihari.
The Bihar government, led by Nitish Kumar, has imposed a total ban on alcohol since April 5, 2016. A Special Investigation Team has been formed to probe the tragedy.
