This alarming discovery, as per the minister's statement on Friday, involves a staggering 1,907,578 fake work slips out of a total of 2,178,523 examined.
The probe, carried out under the oversight of deputy commissioners in all 22 districts, is part of ongoing efforts to rectify irregularities within the Haryana Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. Initial reports suggest the scam amounts to Rs 1,500 crore and could potentially rise as further investigations unfold.
This development underscores the need for rigorous scrutiny and improvement within government schemes aimed at supporting construction workers.
