Over 64 lakh people in Delhi are benefiting from the Public Distribution System (PDS), receiving subsidised food grains until December 2028. This governmental support continues to be a critical resource for families in resettlement colonies and low-income areas.

According to official data, 64,93,601 beneficiaries from 14,28,475 households are currently included in the initiative. The majority, 62,46,786, fall under the Priority Household category, with the remaining 2,46,815 classified under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana for the poorest families.

Distribution is managed through a network supported by six Food Corporation of India godowns across Delhi, accompanied by two sugar godowns. The PDS aims to ensure targeted delivery while tackling challenges like identifying genuine beneficiaries and preventing leakages.
