In a significant development, a Delhi court on Wednesday acknowledged an Enforcement Directorate (ED) chargesheet against noted businessman Robert Vadra. The charges relate to a high-profile money laundering case tied to a land transaction in Haryana's Shikohpur.
Special Judge Sushant Changotra has summoned Vadra to court, alongside other accused individuals, to appear on May 16. This marks the first instance where a probe agency has filed a criminal chargesheet against the 57-year-old Vadra, who is married to Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
The case stems from a 2008 land deal conducted by Skylight Hospitality Pvt Ltd, where Vadra was formerly a director. Allegedly fraudulent, the transaction from Onkareshwar Properties netted a profit when sold to DLF in 2012, sparking controversy. Vadra maintains the accusations are politically motivated.
