Gold Ring Heist Busted: Duo's Deceptive Tactics Revealed
Two men, Jai Prakash alias Punni and Charanjeet, were arrested for stealing gold rings from jewellery shops in Delhi by swapping them with fake ones. The duo, using a deceptive modus operandi, distracted shopkeepers to carry out thefts. They were caught after an investigation using CCTV and facial recognition technology.

In a dramatic turn of events, two men were apprehended for a series of gold ring thefts in southwest Delhi. The accused, Jai Prakash and Charanjeet, employed deceptive tactics to divert shopkeepers' attention and replace genuine gold rings with counterfeit ones.
Their method involved Charanjeet posing as a customer, examining gold jewelry and cunningly swapping them while his accomplice, Jai Prakash, waited outside the shop on a motorcycle to make a swift escape post-theft. The case, which highlighted their ingenuity, first came to light following a complaint on November 14, 2025.
Police investigations, combining CCTV footage and facial recognition technology, successfully identified the suspects. A calculated operation led to their capture in Palam, where they attempted to flee on a stolen motorcycle. Authorities recovered fake jewelry from the duo, revealing their involvement in other incidents across Delhi and Punjab.
