High Court Strikes Down State's Additional Drug Inspector Qualifications

The Allahabad High Court has ruled a section of the Uttar Pradesh government's recruitment rules for drug inspectors as unconstitutional, citing conflict with national legislation.

On April 3, the bench, led by Justices Rajan Roy and Manjeev Shukla, struck down additional state-imposed qualifications, aligning with the Drugs and Cosmetics Act established by the central government.

The court clarified that the central law comprehensively governs this area, thus requiring future recruitments to follow national standards, although past recruitments remain unaffected.
