The Bengaluru North City Corporation (BNCC) took decisive action on Wednesday, levying an Rs 80,000 penalty against Blinkit for the illegal disposal of waste in the Byatarayanapura area.
During an inspection along Ward-9 on Railway Parallel Road, officials discovered that Blinkit had flouted civic regulations by discarding garbage in a public locale, prompting BNCC's swift response.
Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar underscored the ramifications for public health and the environment caused by such negligence, reaffirming the BNCC's strict 'Zero Tolerance' policy and warning of harsher penalties for recurrent breaches.
