The Central Crime Branch's Women Protection Squad successfully dismantled a prostitution racket operating across the city, police reported on Thursday. Acting on credible gathered information, the squad conducted meticulous raids resulting in the arrest of four women and the rescue of four others. Some of the rescued individuals were discovered to have been brought from outside states.

Investigations unveiled that rented properties in Manuvana, Vijayanagar, Ramaswamipalya, Banaswadi, Andrahalli, Veerabhadreshwara Nagar, and Byadarahalli were utilized for illegal operations. The women were reportedly confined and coerced into the illicit trade, with clients organized through phone communications.

Cases have been lodged at Vijayanagar, Banaswadi, and Byadarahalli police stations. The arrested individuals confessed to their activities during questioning, explaining how they arranged meetings with clients to generate income. The courts have since remanded the accused to judicial custody, according to the police.
