The Census 2027 phase focusing on houselisting and housing enumeration has started in New Delhi's NDMC and cantonment areas. This crucial phase marks a significant step towards digitizing census operations, as highlighted by officials.
On Thursday, 570 enumerators were deployed across 473 houselisting blocks in New Delhi, responsible for door-to-door verification and digital mapping of the areas allocated to them. This exercise will utilize the 'Census 2027-HLO' mobile application, underscoring the digital transition in census methodology.
During their visits, enumerators will engage with residents to verify self-enumeration entries and geo-tag properties. This phase will be followed by a population enumeration stage in 2027, aiming to collect comprehensive demographic and socio-economic data.
