In escalating tensions near one of the world’s crucial maritime chokepoints, a container vessel was attacked near the Strait of Hormuz. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations reported Saturday that the vessel was struck by an unknown projectile 25 nautical miles northeast of Oman.
The attack inflicted damage on several containers, underscoring the volatility in the region. This incident is the second of its kind on Saturday, with earlier reports of Iranian Revolutionary Guards firing upon a tanker navigating the strait.
