Cyber Crime Crackdown: Unveiling the Dark Side of Loan Apps

Three men from Noida have been arrested in connection with the death of a student linked to a loan app scam. The deceased, Nithin Raj, faced harassment after borrowing from 'Instant Funds'. Police investigations are ongoing with additional charges tied to caste-based harassment.

In a significant development, three men were brought into custody by a cybercrime team from Kannur, following their arrest in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The arrest pertains to the tragic demise of a first-year BDS student from Kerala, linked to a fraudulent loan app operation.

The accused, identified as Rishikesh Tiwari, Prashant Khewal, and Prakash Jai, allegedly managed the app 'Instant Funds'. Their arrest followed complaints from the student's teacher, who suffered relentless harassment when the student defaulted on a loan.

Further scrutiny by the police revealed that the men used sophisticated technology, including SIM boxes, to perpetrate their crimes. Meanwhile, the student's family contests the legitimacy of claims associating his death with the app, and the investigation now explores caste-based discrimination allegations.
