Uttarakhand HC Emphasizes Nainital's Cleanliness Drive

The Uttarakhand High Court has instructed Rohitash Sharma, Executive Officer of the Nainital Municipal Council, to address Nainital's sanitation issues. The court's directive, following a contempt petition, necessitates a thorough city inspection and the immediate provisioning of dust bins, with a detailed report due by April 28.

In a decisive move, the Uttarakhand High Court on Wednesday underscored the need for improved sanitation in Nainital by directing Executive Officer Rohitash Sharma to conduct a comprehensive inspection.

Suo-motu cognisance was taken by a bench led by Justice Rakesh Thapliyal amidst growing concerns over cleanliness in the city.

As the court addressed a contempt petition filed by Manoj Kumar concerning delayed salary payments, necessary measures, including immediate placement of dust bins, were ordered.
