Cumin Heist Turns Deadly: Neighbor Accused in Fatal Shooting Over Debt

In a bizarre turn of events, a man was arrested for the fatal shooting of his neighbor after a failed attempt to steal cumin seeds valued at Rs 5 lakh. The accused attempted to cover up the murder as a robbery, duping investigators initially.
The incident unfolded in Beere ki Dhani, approximately 100 km from Jaisalmer, where the 25-year-old suspect, Hem Singh, allegedly shot his 50-year-old neighbor Hatthu Devi. The alleged motive was to repay mounting debts by stealing around 30 bags of cumin.
Despite efforts to mislead authorities, technical analysis placed Singh at the crime scene, leading to his confession. Authorities are now working to recover the firearm used in this shocking crime.
