Telangana initiated the self-enumeration phase for Census 2027 on Sunday, marking a significant step as India's first fully digital census. The event was inaugurated by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Lok Bhavan, where he completed his registration through the online self-enumeration facility.
In his address, Governor Shukla highlighted the census's role as a crucial national exercise, vital for providing a detailed picture of the population's socio-economic conditions. The census forms the backbone for planning, governance, and resource distribution, ensuring development reaches all societal segments.
The self-enumeration, running until May 10, will be followed by digital house-listing operations. The governor urged Telanganans to participate actively, emphasizing accurate data's importance for effective policy-making in education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
