In a significant security operation, authorities on Sunday began demolishing an alleged illegal madrassa in Khalilabad, tied to a UK-based preacher with purported radical associations.
The move followed a dismissed appeal against the demolition notice by the madrassa committee, as confirmed by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Hriday Ram Tiwari.
Investigations revealed instances of illegal foreign funding and suspected terror links, prompting multiple FIRs. Officials report that the madrassa's land is now considered government property, and the building plans were unapproved, leading to the demolition.
