Illegal Encroachments Cleared at ASI-Protected Fort

The district administration demolished illegal structures on ASI land in Sambhal, removing homes encroaching Saudhan ka Quila fort. Two houses were demolished by officials, while occupants dismantled two more voluntarily. Affected families will be allotted alternative plots by the Gram Samaj.

The district administration has actively begun clearing illegal encroachments on land belonging to the Archaeological Survey of India in Sambhal. Officials reported the demolition of two houses, with occupants voluntarily dismantling two others.

The Saudhan ka Quila fort, which has undergone a recent renovation costing Rs 29 lakh, faced illegal encroachments by 30 to 32 individuals. Around 2.5 to 3 bighas of ASI-protected land had been occupied without authorization.

District Magistrate Rajendra Pensiya and Superintendent of Police Krishan Kumar ordered the removal of these structures, ensuring preservation of the historic site. Affected families will receive alternate housing provided by the Gram Samaj.
