A US-based doctor experienced a significant loss during her visit to Bengaluru for her nephew's wedding. Valuable gold ornaments, totaling approximately 725 grams and valued at Rs 1 crore, disappeared from a wedding hall on Old Madras Road, as reported by the police on Monday.
The incident took place on April 22. According to the filed complaint, the doctor had arrived in Bengaluru on April 18 with the gold to attend her nephew's wedding. Staying with her brother in Ganganagar, she wore some ornaments but kept the rest secured in a locked room at the wedding hall.
Upon checking later, she found the gold missing and suspects a female worker, who had entered the room while she was changing, might be involved. The Avalahalli police have registered a theft case and are actively investigating the matter.
