Family of 3 killed, 10 injured after auto-rickshaw collides head-on with truck in UP

A family of three was killed, and 10 others suffered injuries, when their auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a truck on Monday afternoon here, police said. Superintendent of Police Arti Singh said that the auto-rickshaw was travelling towards Allahganj in Shahjahanpur when it was struck head-on by a truck.

The victims, including the auto-rickshaw's driver and an infant, were brought to the District Hospital, where doctors pronounced three of them dead. According to the police, 13 people were travelling in an auto-rickshaw. Three among the injured suffered minor injuries and were discharged after being administered first aid. Four critically injured passengers have been referred to a higher medical centre in Saifai (in Etawah district). Upon receiving information about the incident, District Magistrate Dr Ankur Lathar and Superintendent of Police Arti Singh immediately arrived at the hospital. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem. The deceased were identified as Satendra Kumar (33), his wife Tannu (29), and their son Yuvraj (2), police said. Superintendent of Police Arti Singh said that the auto-rickshaw was travelling towards Allahganj in Shahjahanpur when it was struck head-on by a truck. A case has been registered at the Rajepur police station.
