A Century of Academic Excellence and Legacy

Highlighting Andhra University's contribution over the past 100 years, Shri Radhakrishnan said the institution has served as a "melting pot of ideas", nurturing talent that has excelled across diverse fields.

He paid tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former Vice-Chancellor of the University and one of India's greatest philosophers, noting that his vision of education as a means to develop both intellect and character remains deeply relevant today.

The Vice-President also recalled the association of eminent personalities with the university and the city, including Nobel Laureate C. V. Raman and former Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu, along with numerous award-winning alumni who have brought global recognition to the institution.

Andhra Pradesh Emerging as a Growth and Innovation Hub

Turning to the state's development trajectory, Shri Radhakrishnan praised Andhra Pradesh for its rapid economic progress under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu. He noted that the state is attracting significant investments and positioning itself as a major hub for innovation, IT, and digital infrastructure.

Visakhapatnam, in particular, is emerging as a key growth centre, with increasing investments in:

Driving Towards Viksit Bharat Through Strong States

Reinforcing the national vision, Shri Radhakrishnan echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement that "Viksit Bharat can only be realized through Viksit States." He said Andhra Pradesh stands out as one of the fastest-growing states, driven by strong governance and investor-friendly policies.

The state reportedly accounts for over 25% of India's proposed investments in 2025–26, supported by transparent systems, time-bound clearances, and robust infrastructure access.

Inspiring Message to Youth

In an inspiring note to students, the Vice-President emphasized the importance of patience, resilience, and self-belief, drawing an analogy from cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar's journey to achieving his "century of centuries."

He urged young people to embrace failures as learning opportunities and to remain confident in the face of challenges.
