J-K Police promotes 1,785 personnel across ranks
Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday promoted 1,785 personnel to their next ranks, a police spokesman said. The IGP congratulated the promoted officials and their families and expressed hope that they would continue to work with dedication to maintain public peace, tranquillity, and law and order in the Union Territory, the spokesperson said.

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday promoted 1,785 personnel to their next ranks, a police spokesman said. A departmental promotion committee, constituted under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir V K Birdi, assessed the suitability of eligible head constables, selection grade constables, and constables before approving the promotions, he said. The promoted personnel include 300 head constables, 1020 selection grade constables and 465 constables, who have been elevated to the ranks of assistant sub inspectors, head constables and selection grade constables, respectively. The IGP congratulated the promoted officials and their families and expressed hope that they would continue to work with dedication to maintain public peace, tranquillity, and law and order in the Union Territory, the spokesperson said.
