Teenage girl raped in Jharkhand's Simdega; 4 detained

A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped while she was returning home from a wedding ceremony along with her friend in Jharkhand's Simdega district, following which four people were detained, police said on Thursday. According to them, the incident happened late on Tuesday night within the Jaldega police station limits. The police station in charge, Jitendra Kumar, said the victim, in her statement, claimed that she was returning home along with her friend on Tuesday night when the main accused and three minors dragged her to a deserted place in a nearby forest, while her friend managed to flee. The main accused allegedly raped the girl and left her in a deserted place, the police official said, quoting the girl's complaint. Kumar said four people have been detained for interrogation in connection with the case. Action will be taken based on the outcome of the interrogation, he added.
