In a significant operation, the Punjab Police dismantled a cross-border drug and arms smuggling ring, arresting two individuals and seizing over 4 kg of heroin, four sophisticated pistols, and live cartridges, according to Punjab's Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav.

The suspects, identified as Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh and Tarsem Singh alias Kairon, were found to be in contact with Pakistan-based smugglers, with the illegal consignments being delivered through drones. The network's complex operations are under further investigation to identify other associates and connections, stated Amritsar's Commissioner of Police, Gurpreet Singh Bhullar.

Tarsem Singh, a notorious criminal linked to gangster Gurpreet Singh alias Krishan Jandiala, was also revealed to be aspiring for fake travel documents to secure international travel. Legal action has been initiated under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and the Arms Act.
