The collision claimed the lives of the driver and three women, all of whom had been joyous participants in post-wedding celebrations. Shortly thereafter, tragedy struck again on a four-lane bypass under Powayan police station where a family's motorcycle was struck by an SUV, resulting in the deaths of Arun, Seema, and their young children, Diksha and Naitik.
