Delhi police have successfully dismantled an intricate interstate illegal arms supply network connected to two notorious gangs, apprehending five individuals and seizing a significant cache of weapons and ammunition.
Key figures arrested include Rahul Mathur alias Dogra, a financier, and Surender alias Kala, an arms supplier. Their network, also involving a senior supplier named Iqbal from Hapur, aimed to bolster the Gogi and Dinesh Kalra gangs’ dominance through weaponry. The police operation followed intelligence development on the gun-running chains operating in Delhi and nearby states.
Investigations revealed the accused involved in weapon procurement for strengthening gang territory amid growing rivalries and engaging in extortion and land grabbing activities. Confiscated items included a Glock 9 mm pistol, an Italian-made Beretta, and over 100 live cartridges. Further probes are underway to dismantle other elements of this dangerous network.
