In a significant development, notorious drug trafficker Mohammad Salim Dola has been remanded to the custody of India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) until May 8 for his alleged involvement in a major drug seizure case. Dola, an associate of fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim, was apprehended in Turkiye following an Interpol Red Notice issued at India’s request.
The NCB described Dola as a pivotal figure in international drug trafficking, specifically as a key supplier of mephedrone distributed in India. Authorities allege that the accused's arrest is tied to a substantial seizure of 20 kilograms of the drug in South Mumbai in 2023, underscoring the complex, global nature of this underworld network.

The court, ruling on the gravity of the charges, has emphasized the necessity of his custodial interrogation to uncover the intricate supply chains, financial networks, and international connections involved in the crime.
