In a significant victory for India's fight against drug cartels, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has seized 349 kilograms of high-grade cocaine in Mumbai. The haul is valued at a staggering Rs 1,745 crore, marking a major breakthrough in dismantling an international narcotics network.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the NCB's efforts, emphasizing the success of their bottom-to-top approach in tracing back a smaller consignment to unravel a massive narcotics ring. Shah announced the operation's details on the microblogging platform X, reiterating the government's commitment to crushing such illegal activities.
This major bust followed the extradition of Salim Dola, a known drug trafficker linked to international terrorist Dawood Ibrahim, from Turkiye to India. The case highlights the coordinated efforts and success of law enforcement agencies in tackling global drug trafficking.
