C V Anand, a seasoned IPS officer of the 1991 batch, has taken over as the Director General of Police (DGP) in Telangana. Previously serving as Special Chief Secretary to the Government, Home Department, Anand replaces B Shivadhar Reddy. C V Anand, a distinguished 1991-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, has formally assumed duties as Director General of Police (DGP) in the state of Telangana.

Prior to this prestigious appointment, Anand excelled as Special Chief Secretary to the Government in the Home Department. His new role follows the superannuation of B Shivadhar Reddy on April 30.

Anand's career began as Assistant Superintendent of Police in Warangal Rural, gaining recognition for operations in naxal-affected regions that earned him the President's Gallantry Medal. His leadership and expertise are expected to make a significant impact.
