The Goa Police have apprehended five Bangladeshi nationals alleged to be part of an interstate gang involved in dacoities reported in the coastal state last year, as confirmed by a top official on Friday.

The accused were captured in Delhi during the late hours of April 14–15. The arrest follows a comprehensive, year-long investigation requiring coordinated efforts by the crime branch and North Goa Police, said Goa's Director General of Police, Alok Kumar.

The suspects were brought to Goa on April 30 and are currently under police custody. Their entry into India from Bangladesh was reportedly illegal, and they conducted reconnaissance on targets before committing the crimes. Further investigation is underway to recover stolen items and prosecute the suspects under the Foreigners Act.
