Telangana's newly appointed Director General of Police, C V Anand, has pledged to address cyber crimes, drug abuse, and road safety concerns across the state. In a move to strengthen law enforcement, Anand intends to involve district-level officials in combating these growing challenges effectively.
Anand, succeeding B Shivadhar Reddy, emphasized the evolving nature of crime, noting a shift from traditional offenses to more sophisticated cyber crimes. He announced that artificial intelligence would be leveraged in investigations to enhance efficiency and resolution rates.
The new DGP also plans to standardize traffic management with the creation of a dedicated bureau, as around 7,500 road accident deaths occur annually in Telangana. With a focus on integrity and public safety, Anand is determined to uphold the law and serve the community diligently.
